There is minor bruising and swelling after upper eyelid surgery, which typically subsides within a few days after the procedure. Pain is minimal and typically managed with Tylenol. Oral medication may be given to manage any post-operative discomfort and drops may be used to prevent dryness in the eyes during the recovery process. Most patients are able to return to work after a few days and regular exercise after 14 days.
Results of eyelid surgery may be seen right away, but will become more evident as the area heals. Eyes will appear more open and awake and any hooding that interfered with vision prior to surgery should be eliminated. Results of eyelid surgery are considered longer lasting, although the normal aging process may make touch-up procedures desirable in the future.
Dr. Madnani offers a variety of eyelid surgery options to accommodate every patient’s specific needs and desired outcome. To learn more about this cosmetic procedure, contact Dr. Madnani’s office at (332) 216-0176.
