Non-Surgical Procedures

Dysport is an alternative to other neuromodulator treatments like Botox. This medication is administered by injection and works by relaxing the facial muscles that lead to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis and takes just a few minutes to complete. Dr. Madnani offers Dysport at his New York office, as well as its competitors, Botox and Xeomin.

Downtime: 0-3 days

Like Botox and Xeomin, Dysport works best on the following aging signs:

  • Glabellar Lines – vertical wrinkles between the eyebrows (frown lines)
  • Horizontal forehead creases
  • Periorbital Lines – fine lines in the outer corners of the eye (crow’s feet)
  • Smokers or vertical lip lines – that run vertically on the upper and lower lips
  • Brow lift – strategically placed injections of Dysport can cause the lateral brow to be raised, opening the eyes, decreasing hooding, without undergoing a browlift.

Dysport may be used as a single treatment or in combination with other cosmetic procedures like soft tissue fillers or skin rejuvenation. Dysport may be used to treat medical conditions like blepharospasm (uncontrollable eye twitching), hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and migraine headaches as well.

Dysport injections are administered using a very fine needle that causes little or no discomfort to the patient. Injections are carefully placed in the precise location that will reap the best results without affecting normal facial expressions. Treatment takes just a few minutes and patients are able to return to regular activities as soon as treatment is complete.

Results can be seen soon after your Dysport injections and continue to improve in the week or two following the procedure. Dysport typically last around 3-6 months – approximately the same amount of time as Botox and Xeomin.

Because Dysport is mixed differently than other neuromodulator treatments, it is important to find a doctor that is experienced in Dysport treatments. Dr. Madnani has performed hundreds of Dysport injections and can help you determine if this treatment is the best option for you. To learn more, contact Dr. Madnani’s office at (332) 216-0176.
