Non-Surgical Procedures

Belotero is one of the newer choices in soft tissue fillers that was approved by the FDA in 2012. The hyaluronic acid-based formula works in similar fashion to other injectable fillers like Juvederm and Restylane to smooth away wrinkles from underneath the skin’s surface. However, Belotero offers a smoother, softer formula that makes it a good choice for finer facial lines and more delicate areas like under the eyes and around the mouth.

Downtime: 0-3 days

Belotero can work on the following areas:

  • Superficial lines in the cheeks
  • Under eye hollows- that form in the ‘tear trough’ areas, making eyes appear tired
  • Vertical lines that appear on the upper lip and lower lip
  • Creases that appear around the corners of the mouth
  • Periorbital Lines – fine lines in the outer corners of the eye (crow’s feet)

Belotero may be used alone or in combination with other injectable treatments like Juvederm or Botox. Belotero may also be recommended in conjunction with other skin treatments to enhance overall results.

Belotero injections are administered using a very fine needle, so patients experience little or no discomfort during treatment. Topical numbing cream may be applied prior to the injections for sensitive areas or for patients concerned about their comfort level. Treatment takes just a few minutes to complete and patients may return to normal activities as soon as the procedure is over.

Results of Belotero can be seen right away and continue to improve in the days following the procedure. Like other soft tissue fillers, Belotero results typically last 6-9 months before a touch-up treatment is required to maintain results.
